Almost all airlines offer discount airfare for their customers. Choosing them each time you fly, and the end results in big bonuses for the traveler and often means a free ticket to the destination of their choice. Most airlines have a frequent flier mileage program where the advantage of membership is discount airfare. For each flight that you purchase with the airline, you will receive frequent flier mileage. You can let this mileage accrue until you have enough to use and decide to redeem it for discount airfare. Mileage can be redeemed for discount airfare, or other travel needs like hotel rooms and rental cars. On most airlines, if you upgrade to business or first class, you will receive more mileage for the ticket. Some have a limited number of destinations to choose from when redeeming mileage. Southwest offers a different discount airfare program, where for every four airline tickets you purchase online, you receive a fifth in the mail for free, and it is good for any destination that Southwest flies to. South West Airlines does not have business or first class, so additional free tickets for upgrading are not available.
